Are you a low- or modest-income family?

The Government will double your Goods and Services Tax Credit (GSTC) for just the 2019-2020 benefit year.
You will receive payment in early May.
This payment will be almost $400 for single people and almost $600 for couples.

Do you receive the Canada Child Benefit (CCB)?
You will receive an extra $300 per child for just the 2019-2020 benefit year.
You will receive your first payment in May.
If you are a low-income single parent with two children, these two benefits could be an extra $1,500.

Other help for specific groups:
First Nations, Inuit, and Metis Nation Communities: $305 million for immediate needs

Students repaying Canada Student Loans: stop paying, interest-free, for the next 6 months

Seniors with Registered Retirement Income Funds (RRIFs): minimum withdrawals reduced by 25% for 2020

Organizations supporting homeless people: $157.5 million in the Reaching Home initiative for various purposes, including:
· buying beds
· buying physical barriers for social distancing
· finding space outside of shelters for homeless people

Women’s shelters and sexual assault centres, including in Indigenous communities: up to $50 million to help manage or prevent COVID-19 outbreaks
